Inturnship week two wednesday

we had the tate shocks film crew in today. apart from that it was another long hard day. i'll link the video went it surfaces.

Inturnship week two monday and tuesday (deaths and births)

the sad spot where the drummer boy was is clean and ready for round two. the same design is going there but it is being carried out in a more refined manner.
the start of a new design is slowly fleshed out.
by the end of the day the cannon is well under way and the corections have been started on the lion bass playier in the background

inturnship wednesday-friday

what do all these peices all have in common? between wednesday and friday they were completed and then taken down and started again.
in one way or anouther they didnt make the grade. The gallery said that it was because hew changed his mind about the composition and content of the work but there were a fair few mistakes too from our team.
it is a blow went a week of your work is taken down but all is for the greater good. we take these lessons and use them to make the work better.

this is the design i've been working on for the last two days. it really is a team effort though with us moving between designs and helping each other. for example on this one i didnt do the head or tail.
the rest of these photos show the already completed sections. the quility of these is daunting to say the least.

Hew Locke inturnship

day one of my internship. 10 till 6 we began tracing designs around the gallery with cord that Hew had drawn the week before. Hew Locke is a great bloke,although he wasnt around for most of the day because he was over seeing another exibision as well. there are five of us working on the walls at the same time and we have all learnt to hate glue guns as my third dergee burns atest to. que gory photos.

First university project.: JUST A GREY'S phase1

The just a grey's project was based around medical images which i came into contact with by living with medical students. I worry sometime how much they're gore effects me but then i realize that ive seen alot of cool stuff because of it. I explored life casting but in a way which left the peices open to interpretation. The result of the experiments where a series of scream casts which have an organ like quality to them.

i was intrested in the textures i could use in my peices which might give it a grity feel to it and so each scream is held in a rough bound frame.

MAIN FOUNDATION PROJECT: beach combing

A project on east london's local area history with a focus on the material collected by beach combing and the personal details these objects alude to.

FOUNDATION:critiquing a system project

A serise of popular manga images ingraved into shards of plate glass. The third and final stage of plans to chart changes in the consumption of eastern culture by the western world.
the use of glass was so the images could be illumination by neon light like and advertising board. with once strong ideals reduced to eye cathing colour and shapes.
